Rose Ellen Fallon - 11 months - N.O., La - No. 201 Tchoupitoulas Street
“Accidentally Burned to Death.”  The Mother of the child had gone to market –
the Father was working down stairs – Had left the child in bed - in the room was
(sic) three other children – one of them a small boy struck a match – set the
musketon(?) bar on fire – Elder child gave the alarm – Father ran up – found the
bed all on fire – snatched the child from the bed – child was burnt from head to
foot – lived about one hour – occured [sic] about half past 7 o.c. this morning.
Father was quite badly burnt about the arms in trying to rescue the child.
