INQUESTS. - An inquest was held yesterday on the body of George Roxbury, a
laborer, 34 years of age, who was killed accidentally while engaged in hoisting ice
from on board of the brig Lizzie Bell. A spar supporting the staging broke, and a
block of ice fell on the head of Roxbury, killing him immediately. Another man
who was on the staging was slightly injured, but he saved himself by catching hold
of the tackle. Verdict, "accidental death".
